niman Posted April 26, 2016 Report Share Posted April 26, 2016 Health Minister of France, Marisol Touraine said today RMC radio that there is a "strong suspicion" of a case of microcephaly connected to Zika virus on the island of Martinique in the Caribbean. It would be the first case of microcephaly in France, an anomaly is suspected to have been caused by Zika, a virus transmitted by mosquito that has spread throughout Latin America. niman Posted April 26, 2016 Author Report Share Posted April 26, 2016 Microcephaly and other fetal malformations have been reported in Brazil (944 cases), Cabo Verde (two cases), Colombia (32 cases), French Polynesia (eight cases), Martinique (one case) and Panama (one case).
