Louisiana Zika Cases Increase To 14

The Louisiana Department of Health is reporting five new cases of the Zika virus. The patients sought medical care in Louisiana after traveling to a region with an ongoing Zika transmission.

Following the five cases reported this week, there have now been 14 cases of the virus reported in Louisiana. Each patient returned to Louisiana and began to show symptoms of an illness. The patients and their healthcare provider have been notified of the Zika-positive result.
