Percent of COVID-19 cases living in group housing Long-term care facilities include skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes) and assisted living facilities (community-based residential facilities and residential care apartment complexes). Group housing facilities include correctional facilities, homeless shelters, dormitories, and group homes. The data on group housing for approximately half of the cases are unknown at this time because these data have only been systematically collected since April 8, 2020. However, any COVID cases who were part of an outbreak investigation in a long-term care or other group housing facility prior to April 8 are classified under the appropriate group setting category (and are not included in the unknown category). As of April 24, 2020, a total of 23921 cases of COVID-19 have been reported among Connecticut residents. One thousand eight hundred seventy-seven patients are currently hospitalized. There have been 1764 COVID-19-associated deaths. Day-to-day changes reflect newly reported cases, deaths, and tests that occurred over the last several days to week. All data in this report are preliminary; data for previous dates will be updated as new reports are received and data errors are corrected. Hospitalization data were collected by the Connecticut Hospital Association.
