Monitoring Zika Quebec

In Quebec, infection Zika virus is not a reportable disease, but it is currently the subject of increased vigilance. The World Health Organization (WHO) has sought the cooperation of all countries to improve scientific knowledge related to this virus.

People who are infected with the virus Zika are reported by the public health laboratory of the Quebec regional health authorities that communicate with them to document the manifestations of the disease and the place of purchase.

As of April 26, 2016, 16 persons infected Zika virus have been reported in Quebec. All have acquired their infection during a stay on the outside, that is to say, in places where transmission by mosquitoes of Zika virus is known.
