Delaware public health officials announced Tuesday the state's eighth confirmed case of Zika contracted during travel abroad.

According to officials with the Delaware Division of Public Health, the male subject was bitten by a mosquito while traveling abroad, and the case does not involve a pregnancy. The next most recent Zika confirmation came at the end of June

Of the 127 individuals who have been, or are in the process of currently being tested, 110 results have been returned negative, eight have been positive, seven were pending, and two pregnant females returned inconclusive tests.

The CDC reports 1,133 confirmed cases of Zika in the United States and D.C., though there has been no confirmed cases of transmission of the disease caused by a local mosquito bite in the continental U.S.
