Galveston County health officials determined that an area resident contracted the Zika virus on a recent trip to Dominica. The Galveston County Health District does not believe that the virus was transmitted to any local mosquitoes or people. SUBSCRIBE There have been 27 additional confirmed cases of Zika virus in the Houston-area, 24 in Harris County and three in Fort bend County.
