A suspiction contamination of bird flu was detected in a third breeding Tarn, resulting in the extension of security perimeters, said Saturday the prefecture.

"The detection of a suspicion in Lacapelle-Ségalar resulted in the extension of protection zones and surveillance on Saturday," said the prefecture in a statement.

This new probable fireplace adds to the two farms already affected by the H5N8 viruys, called "highly pathogenic" by the authorities.

All animals in these two farms, as well as suspicious backyard, were shot dead Friday is 7,000 ducks, in addition to the 4,500 already died of disease.

The culling operations were conducted or continued Saturday in the three departments of Gers, Lot-et-Garonne and Hautes-Pyrénées where some farms were delivered in ready to stuff ducks from a contaminated tarnaise exploitation.
