niman Posted March 29, 2022 Report Posted March 29, 2022 On March 15, 2022, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) confirmed the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza, subtype H5N1, in a non-commercial flock (non-avian detection) in southern New Scotland. This small farm produces neither birds nor eggs for sale. The CFIA reminds flock owners to remain vigilant and apply biosecurity measures at all times.
