  On January 21, the National Health and Health Commission confirmed the first confirmed case of pneumonia imported from a new coronavirus infection in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.

  The patient was a 66-year-old male from Taikou, Zhoukou. He worked in Wuhan. He developed fever, chest tightness, and shortness of breath on December 29, 2019. He returned to Zhoukou for treatment on January 7, 2020. Referred to Zhengzhou on January 10, patients were transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment on January 20. The provincial CDC collected specimens from this case for testing and showed a weak positive for the new coronavirus, and sent the specimens to the Chinese CDC for viral nucleic acid review testing. On January 21, the Chinese CDC determined the viral nucleic acid review test The case was positive, and the case was evaluated by an expert in the diagnosis team under the Epidemic Leadership Group of the National Health and Health Commission, and it was confirmed as a confirmed case of pneumonitis infected by the new coronavirus. The patient is currently being treated in isolation and is in stable condition.
