niman Posted November 6, 2022 Report Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) The agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported that three of eight identified outbreaks have affected three modernized poultry production units (UPA), two in the state of Sonora and one in Nuevo León. The technicians of the General Directorate of Animal Health (DGSA) installed the quarantine corresponding to the affected commercial farms and applied the indicated sanitary measures, so the UPAs were depopulated, cleaned and disinfected to start the period of sanitary vacuum and subsequently introduce sentinel birds, in order to verify the absence of the virus before restarting the production processes. The United States-Mexico Commission for the Prevention of Foot-and-Mouth Disease and Other Exotic Animal Diseases (CPA) of the Senasica reported that in all cases it applied the corresponding anti-epidemic measures, which include tracking the virus within 15 kilometers around the findings. Likewise, he indicated that the total depopulation of the technified UPAs that were affected by the virus in Sonora and Nuevo León has already concluded, events that in their entirety involve around 296 thousand birds. https://www.gob.mx/senasica/prensa/implementa-senasica-medidas-contraepidemicas-en-siete-estados-para-proteger-a-la-produccion-avicola-nacional-318889?idiom=es Edited January 14, 2023 by niman
