So far in Mexico, HPAI AH5N1 has affected a total of 3,933,499 birds, most of them laying eggs, which means 0.19 percent of the national inventory in 17 commercial poultry production units from eight states in the country: six in Jalisco, six in Yucatán, four in Sonora and one in Nuevo León.

In addition, four backyard farms located in Chiapas, Chihuahua, Mexico State and Oaxaca were affected.
