Coronavirus: Five more cases increase the number of positive ones in Spain to 9

The Minister of Health says that the positives of the last hours "are imported cases" and adds that no transmission has been accredited in Spain

Rise in new cases of coronavirus in Spain . Four positives were confirmed this Tuesday: a man admitted to Hospital de la Plana, a young man from Madrid, the wife of the Italian vaccine doctor at Tenerife who tested positive on Monday, and a woman resident in Barcelona who is the first case in Catalonia .

After midnight it has been confirmed that two Italian tourists staying at the Hotel in Adeje have also tested positive . These are two people who were in the circle closest to the Italian doctor and his wife.

The Canary Islands Ministry of Health has confirmed this and has announced that, following the established protocol,  the analyzes will be sent to the Carlos III Health Institute to confirm the results:

Of the nine confirmed coronavirus cases so far, the first two have already been discharged , so there are currently seven active coronavirus cases in Spain , occurring in just over 24 hours, from Monday to night until dawn on Wednesday.

 

A 24-year-old first positive in Madrid

It was learned this Tuesday night that a 24-year-old traveling to northern Italy is the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the Community of Madrid.

Sources in the Regional Ministry of Health have said that the young man has begun to feel mild symptoms this Tuesday and, after testing positive, is at home waiting to be transferred to Carlos III Hospital.

A patient from Villarreal, the first case in the Valencian Country

The Ministry of Health of the Valencian Generalitat has confirmed the first case of coronavirus in the Valencian Country on Tuesday evening . He was a man who had gone to the Hospital de la Plana , in Villarreal, with symptoms compatible with the disease.

The Italian doctor's wife, also positive

On Tuesday it was also known that the wife of the Italian doctor who is on vacation in Tenerife tested positive for the disease.

To date, the woman has not had any symptoms , but she has also tested positive, as confirmed by the Health Ministry of the Canary Islands government .

The Canary Islands Ministry of Health says that both the wife and her husband "are in good condition."

Both are isolated at La Candelaria de Tenerife Hospital, pending the result of the second analysis , performed by the National Center for Microbiology at the Carlos III Health Institute in Madrid.
