The Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement:

"The Ministry of Public Health announces the registration of a second laboratory-confirmed case infected with the newly created coronavirus (COVID-19), which is epidemiologically linked to the first case. It was a seven-day religious visit to Iran and returned to Lebanon on February 20, 2020 on the same plane as the first case. Symptoms appeared on February 24, 2020 and the patient has been isolated in the Rafic Hariri University Hospital since then and her health condition is currently stable.

Her family members and those close to her will be tracked daily by the Ministry of Public Health team. "
