A man in his 30s has been infected by the coronavirus. On Wednesday, the hospital held a press conference regarding the coronary case confirmed.

The man must have been infected when he was in northern Italy and landed in Sweden about a week ago. According to a press release from Sahlgrenska, the man must have been ill three days ago. He must first have sought care through 1177, who has subsequently taken him to the health care.

Today, Wednesday the man visited the care and he was tested according to routine. The test results showed positive for the corona virus.

The man is being cared for at the infection clinic at the Eastern Hospital and should feel good according to the circumstances.

During the evening, the hospital initiated a so-called contact tracking to see if there are other people who may have been exposed to the infection.

"I can't go into exact numbers, but we believe we have good knowledge of what contacts he has had," says Tomas Wahlberg, infection control physician at Region West.

- We believe that it is manageable to get in touch with those who have had close contact with the man, says Tomas Wahlberg.
