FLI has released an EID paper that describes the H5N8 reasortant first seen in the sequences from Poland, A/herring gull/Poland/84/2016.

Eight new sets of sequences have been deposited at GISAID, but not yet released.  However, 6 of  the H5 and N8 sequences are represented in phylogenetic trees, and all match the Poland sequences.

PA and NP trees include the latter three sequences above, which also match the sequence from Poland, confirming presence of additional internal genes which match the most widely reported European H5N8 constellation (also present in Sweden, England, and France).

These sequences are distinct fro the Croatia sequences with a different constellation (present in Croatia, France, and southern Poland).
