A bald eagle infected with avian influenza was euthanized on Saturday after the bird was found exhibiting strange behavior at Sampson State Park in Romulus. The park manager at Sampson State Park called the Finger Lakes Raptor Center (FLRC) around 10 p.m. on Friday, April 29. The park manager placed the call after witnessing an adult eagle fall out of a tree and land in the shrubbery below. He suspected the bird had Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) due to the bird’s unusual behavior. https://www.fingerlakes1.com/2022/05/03/sampson-state-park-bald-eagle-infected-with-avian-influenza-has-been-euthanized/
