Negative results may have up to a 72-hour lag before being reported and results prior to March 19th may be under-reported. Laboratory results are presented by the date a sample was tested. Laboratory positives may not match confirmed cases due to ongoing investigations and confirmatory testing. Case data: As of April 2nd, 2020, UDOH is no longer including visitor cases in the case count to align with CDC reporting criteria. These cases will now be reported in their home states. Case data are displayed by the date the case is reported to public health – through contact tracing, some cases may be reported to public health prior to testing positive. Case count date may not match the tested date because of a delay between when a case is reported to public health and when public health receives the final laboratory report. Case counts in this report only represent laboratory confirmed cases. The actual number of cases in Utah is higher than what is reported due to mild cases not feeling ill enough to seek care, clinician judgement for testing, and expanding laboratory capacity. Demographic data: There will be small count differences in data presented by age groups, self-reported sex, and hospitalization status. This is because some cases are not initially reported with all of these data elements and unknowns are excluded from this report. Case data will be updated as LHDs and UDOH complete investigations. Hospitalization Data: Hospitalizations in this table represent the total number of cases that have been admitted to hospitals. This count does not represent the number of COVID-19 cases currently in the hospital. Hospitalization data is collected from patient interviews and medical chart abstractions by Local Health Departments (LHDs). While UDOH and LHDs capture most hospitalizations through provider reporting, some patients may be hospitalized after the case was investigated by an LHD and therefore not included in this count. https://coronavirus.utah.gov/case-counts/

Last updated: 11:30 a.m.; April 10, 2020 BACK TO TOP COMMUNITY IMPACT MAP Everyone has a role to play to get ready, stay healthy, and protect yourself, your family, and your community from COVID-19. The goal is to slow the spread of COVID-19 to reduce illness and death, while minimizing disruptions to daily life. What does “community mitigation” mean? Any actions that individuals, schools, businesses, and health care facilities take to slow the spread of the infection. CDC has developed steps that can be taken based on the level of COVID-19 spread in the community. As more COVID-19 is spread in a community, additional preventive steps can be taken. Community spread is defined as three levels: None: COVID-19 cases may occur in the community, but there is NO community transmission. Minimal to Moderate: There is a single case of community-acquired COVID-19 in a county. Substantial: There are five or more cases of community-acquired COVID-19 in a county or a distinct group of cases in a single area (e.g., city or county). NOTE: this data is best viewed on a desktop or laptop computer. BACK TO TOP PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID ILLNESS What can you do? Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Q&A for Consumers: Hand Sanitizers and COVID-19 Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Refraining from touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects. Individuals at higher risk for severe COVID-19 illness, such as older adults and people who have chronic medical conditions like heart, lung or kidney disease, should take actions to reduce your risk of exposure. Create a family plan to prepare for COVID-19 and develop a stay at home kit with food, water, medication, and other necessary items. Note on cumulative counts: This report is provisional and subject to change. As public health investigations of individual cases continue, there will be corrections to the status and details of referred cases that result in changes to this report. Note on the deaths: Deaths must be reported by health care providers, medical examiners/coroners, and recorded by local health departments in order to be counted. Beginning on 4/10/2020, MDHHS staff will review death certificate data maintained in Vital Records reporting systems, weekly. Records that identify COVID-19 infection as a contributing factor to death are compared against all laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). If a death certificate is matched to a confirmed COVID-19 case, the MDSS record is updated to indicate the death and the appropriate local health department is notified. These matched deaths will be included with mortality information posted to the Michigan Coronavirus website. Today’s data includes 30 additional deaths identified through this methodology. Note on jurisdictional classification: In order to provide more accurate data, the “Other” jurisdiction category will no longer be used. Michigan Department of Corrections cases will be listed under “MDOC”. Federal Correctional Institution cases will be listed under “FCI”. https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98163_98173---,00.html

The number of hospitals reporting varies on a day to day basis, so counts are not directly comparable from day to day. Data are provided through partnerships with Northwest Healthcare Response Network, for western Washington, the Regional Emergency and Disaster (REDi) Healthcare Coalition, for eastern Washington, and the Region IV Healthcare Preparedness Alliance, for southwest Washington, and the Washington State Hospital Association. Labs assign those cases to a county. Counties or the Department of Health then determine the appropriate county of jurisdiction. Those don’t always match initially. We’re working to reduce the “unassigned” number to 0. Contact the local health department for county specific information. Note on the deaths: Some deaths may be reported by health care providers, medical examiners/coroners, local health departments, or others before they are included in the statewide count. It takes longer for the state to announce deaths because they are often reported first to the local health department and then to us. Note on the number of infections: Public health experts agree that the true number of people who have been infected with COVID-19 in Washington greatly exceeds the number of COVID-19 infections that have been laboratory-confirmed. It is very difficult to know exactly how many people in Washington have been infected to date since most people with COVID-19 experience mild illness and the ability to get tested is still not widely available. https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/Coronavirus
  17. y LOS ANGELES TIMES STAFF UPDATED APRIL 10, 9:11 A.M. PACIFIC 20,285 confirmed cases +73 so far today +1,149 yesterday 550 deaths +3 so far today +40 yesterday The coronavirus pandemic has spread rapidly across California. Experts say the true number of people infected is unknown and likely much higher than official tallies. To better understand the spread of the virus, The Times is conducting an independent, continual survey of dozens of local health agencies across the state. So far today, one of the 56 agencies we’re monitoring has reported new numbers. What we know Totals continue to climb as new cases and deaths are announced each day. Cases have been confirmed in 53 of 58 counties. The largest concentration so far is in Los Angeles County, the state's most populous. California's totals now sit well below New York, though some experts say this may be due partly to bottlenecks in testing. To combat the virus' spread, state and local officials have shuttered much of the government and economy. Who has died? How many tests have been run? What is closed or restricted? How does California compare? What is the trend over time? The state’s first case was confirmed near the end of January. The total grew slowly at first, then much faster as tests became more widely available. The number of cases in California is now on pace to double every 8.9 days, a reflection of how widely the virus is spreading. Coronavirus can infect people so rapidly that government officials have issued shutdown orders aimed at slowing the growth of new cases and flattening this line. Growth varies from county to county, but most areas are still climbing. The chart below is adjusted to show how quickly new cases are being confirmed in each county. A good sign is when a line flattens, which indicates that transmission is slowing in that area. A disorganized web of city, county and state facilities, as well as a growing number of private for-profit labs, are conducting tests. Officials have struggled to keep tabs. After a series of what he called “fits and starts” in test tracking, Gov. Newsom on Saturday promised better organization and a “new day.” His administration now sets the total number of tests conducted in California at 168,800. Cases who were examined in but not admitted to a hospital may be incorrectly classified as hospitalized until interview and medical record review are complete, leading to fluctuations in the number of hospitalized COVID-19 cases. Notes: Because community transmission is occurring in Oregon and recommendations on social or physical distancing are in place, as of March 17, 2020, we no longer report daily counts of persons under monitoring. Confirmation by CDC of laboratory results from the Oregon State Public Health Laboratory is no longer required; therefore as of March 15, 2020, we no longer note the number of CDC-confirmed cases. Reporting of travel history is not available for cases reported to OHA by commercial laboratories; therefore as of March 15, 2020, we no longer include information about travel history. As of March 26, 2020, OHA is releasing a COVID-19 Daily Update (formerly called the Situational Status Report) which is produced jointly with Oregon Office of Emergency Management. It details the overall picture of the COVID-19 response across government agencies. Previous updates are posted on OHA's COVID-19 News page. https://govstatus.egov.com/OR-OHA-COVID-19
