David and Sally Abel, who won worldwide fame with their video updates on Facebook, were diagnosed with the coronavirus after 16 days mostly confined to their cabin on the Diamond Princess. They are now in isolation in a “prison-like” hospital in Japan. David’s condition is “very serious”, said his son, Stephen. Other passengers from the stricken ship arrived home in the UK today, but face further quarantine JONATHAN BRADY/PA Expressing frustration over the “next to useless” efforts of the Foreign Office, Stephen appealed to Donald Trump to help the couple, who were on the cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary.
