This has to be seen by people. Professor Kentaro Iwata an infectious disease specialist was supposed to board the Diamond Princess to lead a team to help these people. He arrived and was sent off on the same day and he's made a video to tell why. It's terrifying to hear what he has to say. He's now in self quarantine and fears for his and his families safety.

Antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) occurs when antibodies facilitate viral entry into host cells and enhance viral infection in these cells (1, 2). ADE has been observed for a variety of viruses, most notably in flaviviruses (e.g., dengue virus) (3-6). Peer reviewed paper: https://www.docdroid.net/uVOql5p/jvi02015-19full.pdf So it is potentially far worse the second time you get it, which makes it an extremely worrying virus considering it's potential r0 value.

Dr. Niman, If you feel this is too of-topic feel free to remove. Up till recently, I’ve poo-pooed the idea that the origin of Covid-19 might have come from Wuhan’s biolabs. I thought you might look at this article and comment: https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/sudden-militarization-wuhans-p4-lab-raises-new-questions-about-origin-deadly-covid-19 Zerohedge is a strange website with a lot of strange stuff, but occasionally it does have some gems. There have been many bio-lab accidents, near-accidents and intentional release of pathogens (anthrax in letters allegedly mailed by US Army researcher Bruce Ivins resulting in five deaths) around the wor…

"The sudden cases emerging all around the country have left the authorities scratching their heads as to who is Patient Zero in each of these clusters, as they rush to contain the spread of the virus. While the Health Ministry has said there was still no evidence of any community spread, domestic media have cited experts who say that a "stealth outbreak" could already have happened." https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/fears-of-stealth-outbreak-as-cases-emerge-across-japan

Abstract The novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a recently emerged human pathogen that has spread widely since January 2020. Initially, the basic reproductive number, R0, was estimated to be 2.2 to 2.7. Here we provide a new estimate of this quantity. We collected extensive individual case reports and estimated key epidemiology parameters, including the incubation period. Integrating these estimates and high-resolution real-time human travel and infection data with mathematical models, we estimated that the number of infected individuals during early epidemic double every 2.4 days, and the R0 value is likely to be between 4.7 and 6.6. We further show that quarantine and…

Summary: Tencent has listed infection numbers vastly different than official numbers on repeated occasions. "...each time the screen with the large numbers appears, it shows a comparison with the previous day's data which demonstrates a "reasonable" incremental increase, much like comparisons of official numbers. This has led some netizens to speculate that Tencent has two sets of data, the real data and "processed" data" Article: Tencent may have accidentally leaked real data on Wuhan virus deaths; Tencent briefly lists 154,023 infections and 24,589 deaths from Wuhan coronavirus See https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3871594 TAIPEI (Taiwan New…

John Hopkins GIS Dashboard appears broken now for two days. It was a great source while it lasted. Does anyone know why it’s no longer working or are there alternatives with regular updates? https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 GIS Dashboard In response to this ongoing public health emergency, we developed an online dashboard (static snapshot shown below) to visualize and track the reported cases on a daily timescale; the complete set of data is downloadable as a google sheet.
